The Challenge
Over the last few years, Swish Dental has more than doubled their number of dental studios. They needed a variety of marketing solutions to keep up with their hyper-growth and a creative partner who could help them reach their goals.
They loved their logo and brand colors but wanted to make their website more fun and approachable. Because dental services have heavy competition and are easily commoditized, the leadership team knew that having a strong brand presence can set themselves apart from other dental offices. Their local SEO strategy needed work to reach more of their target market, and they also needed to improve the visual branding that their internal team had started.

hmpsn studio implemented the following solutions to refine Swish Dental’s branding and increase their brand’s visibility.
We’ve iterated on Swish Dental’s brand guidelines to include textures and design elements that make it pop. The fun, playful colors like teals and pinks help them to reach their target demographic–youthful, discerning young professionals and families that care about their dental experience.
We rebuilt their website to reflect a new visual direction. This site rebuild focused on optimizing conversion with clear calls to action, lead capture mechanisms, and on-brand copy that is designed to entice potential patients to book an appointment at the studio nearest them. Additionally, we improved the web site’s structure by adding additional services pages for key treatments Swish Dental didn’t have on their previous website.
We approached SEO with a number of different strategies, like technical SEO and rewriting Swish’s core site pages to increase keyword placement and search rankings. In addition to services pages, we wrote blog content that focused on individual services that Swish was trying to grow in their practice. Through this work, we were able to increase non-branded search impressions and clicks by more than 350% year over year.
What good is a lead if you don’t follow up on it? We helped Swish implement various lead capture tools, like an insurance verification form and a contact form. Once these forms are submitted by prospective patients, we then send them to Swish’s email marketing tool, Iterable, to make sure that we are able to stay in contact and follow up if they haven’t booked an appointment.
Swish had success with branded mailer campaigns, but their previous partner was coming up short when it came to providing analytics and metrics. Using detailed, local market data, we were able to define exactly which zip codes hit Swish’s desired demographic profile and targeted the opportunities that would be most valuable. From the 6 mailer campaigns we’ve deployed, we’ve seen 486 QR code scans and 63 appointments booked, which is positive results considering print mailers are more for local brand awareness than high conversion.
We also designed and built a custom, gated microsite called Swish Pulse that allows for organized employee training. Since launching, Swish Dental has onboarded nearly 300 employees across 15 locations using their custom training portal.
Results
During our work together, Swish Dental has increased their local search traffic, doubled in locations, and onboarded hundreds of employees. They have a clear content strategy that drives new visitors, and their marketing team is empowered and clear on what to focus on each month. Their memorable branding sets them apart as a boutique provider, and customers rave about their experience with them. The Swish leadership team loves their training site as it serves as a centralized hub of employee information.

“With Pulse we are now able to grant staff access to training at any time and in any place. As we've seen the platform grow, the requests for new additions has only increased based on the effect it has had on centralizing communication to our teams.”
